However, if you are not serious about change but just want to see if hypnosis will work without effort on your part, then hypnosis is probably not for you. You must be primed and ready for change.

If you are new to hypnosis, it may be a natural or learned experience for you. The experience of hypnosis is subjective and varies from person to person. Some people experience a light trance, as if they had a very relaxing rest. Some will go into a deeper trance, which is similar to the twilight between waking and sleeping and others will experience a very deep trance.
